After buying an old 1930s Craftsman-style farmhouse in 1988 and later designing and overseeing the remodel, Beth began to notice and pay close attention to the construction of old houses and historic homes and took an interest in their preservation. Growing up around horses and farms, the old farmhouses hold a special place in her heart. The craftsmanship and construction involved in some of these places are truly amazing and left her dreaming of re-designing and renovating them.

Beth was a born entrepreneur at heart, looking for ways to supplement her family's income. She strived to create a home-based business to enable her to be at home raising her five children in their younger years. She was interested in horses from an early age and dedicated her early education through college and beyond to training, showing, marketing, and managing equine farms. She later pursued her interest in cars, specializing in evaluation, purchase, and deal negotiation. She has also worked as a promoter, marketing a worldwide sports app, creating relationships, and expanding her network reach throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Every venture was a stepping stone to developing management, social, HR, and problem-solving skills in preparation for starting a successful investment company and the General Contracting Company, Promise Land Construction LLC.

Dale and Beth met in the 90s and discovered they were very like-minded regarding real estate. They both love the old Craftsman-style homes. Dale, who had worked at a local door plant (Simpson Door Company) for 31 years, has always had a knack for building. He worked for a local cedar mill as their primary builder of quality gazebos in the late 70s and 80s. He later started his own contractor business. He had an excellent reputation in Thurston and Grays Harbor counties for doing quality remodels and building barns and shops. His clients usually ended up being repeat customers, and they enjoyed his company at their homes so much they often invited him to stay for dinner! When business slowed because of economic changes, Dale took a full-time job at the door plant and phased out his business. He continued to use his carpentry skills on rentals and personal properties. There remained a passion for building, and Dale and Beth enjoyed working on rentals, and several remodel projects together.

In 2019 Beth began Promise Land Construction LLC as a General Contracting Company to work on her investment properties, enabling Dale to retire at Simpson Door. Our team is mainly family-operated, with our daughter Aisha and son Daylan working for us. We also have two great local employees, Alejandro (aka Alex) and Kristina, and we will be hiring more in the near future.
